SMARTSOCK PROJECT
Smartsock Project, was developed to monitor chronic venous disease, including daily step count and calories burned, heart rate, minimum and maximum blood pressure, temperature and limb circumference, transcutaneous oxygen saturation, and other parameters.
The project involves the creation of a trial capable of managing at least 1000 patients. Customization Period: patient recruitment and training; customization and calibration of sensors, training of the system for self-learning and data analysis; to clinical prediction support (medical DSS) and to prognostic and diagnostic decisions (predictive engine).
- STUDY AND CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF THE PROTOTYPE– sensorizedstocking: standard wearable sensors (digital biomarkers) 3 months. The sensor is contained within the structure of an elastic sock, the recorded information is displayed directly (and exclusively) on a smartphone or tablet.
The sensor synchronizes wirelessly via Bluetooth with a smartphone or tablet, using a specific app (IoS or Android).
The project uses the Technoscience platform «sensorysuite-2020».
It is the sum of some basic components, which we called "building block”, capable of operating like Lego bricks, creating services that can be used and called up by various applications of a perfectly integrated extensible system, capable of including future modules and interfacing methods, developed with programming languages and heterogeneous technologies, without having to be rethought.
- DESIGN PHASE: In the second phase, the sensors will be embedded in the stocking fabric using textile circuits (under development). Thanks to the three-dimensional
We are testing the following sensors in this sense:
1 – Pressure sensors which measure posture, balance and body weight distribution (ACTIVE)
Wearable devices are destined to become our best life companions: all we need to do is transform them from simple objects connected to the Internet into real customizable tools for monitoring health and physical activity.
2 – Surface electromyography – SemggForce 100 Armband (ACTIVE)
It is an intelligent wearable human interface device for gesture recognition.
It recognizes gestures based on sEMG signals and calculates orientation data from its integrated 6-axis IMU and three-axis magnetometer.
3 – EEG telemonitoring headband (ACTIVE)
Muse 2 is a multi-sensor device that provides real-time feedback on brain activity, heart rate, breathing and body movements.
4 – SENSOR SUIT – motion sensors – inertial (ACTIVE)
PerceptionNeuron offers a new platform accessible to research centres, opening up extensive opportunities for experimentation and development in virtual reality and IoT.
Below, some moments of the experimentation of the simultaneous recording of the various types of sensors: The standard "wearables" measure biometric parameters, such as: heart rate, calories burned, breathing rate, blood pressure, etc.
The new «wearables» (IMU- Inertial Measurement Unit) measure kinematic parameters, such as: Accelerations, rotations, speed etc., Pressure Sensors (Ultrasensor 3D Platform), Surface Electromyography (EEM). The «IMUs» associated with Virtual Reality allow assisted (auto/remote) and real-time verification of motor activity and posture
The following are coming soon, to be implemented on the platform:
- Sensors for 12-lead ECG Analysis and Telemonitoring.
- Temperature sensors.
- BIOSENSORS capable of monitoring blood glucose levels and selected coagulation parameters such as D-dimer and INR, among others
- EXTENSION AND VOLUMETRIC SENSORS offer us ergonomic and telemetric data, capable of evaluating the volumetric deformation of the limb.
