Connecting research, skills and industry to transform knowledge in the Life Sciences into applicable innovation
International Biotech Academy (IBA) is a project under development, promoted to create a new platform connecting scientific research, biotechnology, advanced skills, technology transfer and industry.
The aim is to address one of the central challenges of contemporary Life Sciences: reducing the gap between the production of new scientific knowledge and the ability to turn it into skills, applications, innovation processes and concrete opportunities for companies, professionals and territories.
IBA brings together the expertise and experience of Technoscience and S3 Opus, connecting the scientific and technological dimension with advanced education, skills development and professional growth.
Not a traditional school, but a project designed to build a knowledge infrastructure capable of connecting worlds that too often develop separately.
From research to impact
In biotech, knowledge evolves rapidly.
New technologies, advanced therapies, artificial intelligence tools, new research models and industrial transformations are continuously reshaping skills, professions and opportunities for application.
Producing knowledge, however, is not enough.
The conditions must be created for it to circulate among laboratories, universities, companies, startups, professionals, investors and institutions, and to become part of new innovation processes.
This is the space in which the project is positioned International Biotech Academy.

An ecosystem for the Life Sciences
IBA is conceived as a platform open to interaction among the different players in the Life Sciences ecosystem.
Researchers, universities and research centres can connect with biotech, pharma, MedTech and healthcare companies.
Professionals and new generations can engage with emerging scientific knowledge and the skills required by innovation.
Startups and companies can gain faster access to research and technologies.
The scientific community can engage with real industrial, entrepreneurial and societal needs.
The aim is to foster the circulation of knowledge along a value chain that starts with research and can lead to application, business and the market.
An ecosystem built around knowledge
IBA connects research, skills, industry and innovation, creating connections among the different players in the Life Sciences.

Anticipate
Innovation also means understanding what is changing before that change becomes evident.
For this reason, the IBA project integrates a dimension of Strategic Foresight and Skills Intelligence, focused on observing emerging scientific, technological and professional trajectories in the Life Sciences.
New technologies also mean new skills, new professions and new organisational models.
Anticipating them means helping people and organisations prepare for the future of biotech.
Connect
Scientific research creates greater value when it can engage with different systems.
IBA aims to foster connections among universities, research centres, companies, startups, healthcare, investors, professionals and international networks.
Not simply networking, but building relationships around knowledge and the ability to transform it.
Connection thus becomes part of the technology transfer process itself.
Educate
Education is one component of the project, but it does not define its identity in full.
IBA aims to develop advanced pathways linked to transformations in the Life Sciences, with models that may integrate executive education, masterclasses, Corporate Academies, digital learning, scientific and professional faculty, and opportunities for engagement with international ecosystems.
The aim is to develop skills capable of operating at the intersection of science, technology, business and innovation.
Experiment
Knowledge acquires value when it can be put to the test.
For this reason, IBA aims to complement theory with opportunities to engage with applied cases, technologies, companies, laboratories and innovation processes.
An approach in which learning, research and experimentation can reinforce one another.
The role of Technoscience
The point of connection between scientific research, innovation and the potential for application.
Within the project, Technoscience brings its experience in biotech, applied research, innovation and technology transfer.
It is the point of connection with the scientific community and with that decisive phase in which knowledge, a technology or a research result must be tested against its potential to become an application.
This body of expertise helps shape IBA’s approach: building pathways that do not separate education from innovation or research from industry.

From knowledge to technology transfer
One of the central elements of the project is precisely the relationship between knowledge transfer and technology transfer.
Technology can be transferred effectively only when people and organisations have the ability to understand, assess, apply and develop it.
For this reason, skills and technology transfer are not two separate processes.
They are parts of the same pathway.
Research → knowledge → skills → connections → application → innovation.
IBA aims to work precisely along this trajectory.
An international perspective
The Life Sciences are global by nature.
Research, investment, innovation, skills and industrial development move through highly interconnected international ecosystems.
IBA therefore has an international vocation and aims to build connections between the Italian ecosystem and some of the leading contexts in which biotech research and innovation are developing.
Internationalisation is understood not simply as geographical expansion, but as the opportunity to connect knowledge, people, experiences and different models.
Three words summarise the direction of the project. Knowledge is the starting point, connection is the process, and impact is what enables knowledge to generate transformation.
Knowledge.
Scientific knowledge is the starting point. Research, evidence and new technologies create possibilities that gain value when they can be understood, shared and developed.
Connect.
Knowledge must cross disciplines, organisations and borders. IBA connects research, skills, companies and international networks to create new opportunities for collaboration.
Impact.
Value emerges when knowledge generates transformation: in skills, in research, in companies and in the ability to bring innovation into concrete applications.
Putting knowledge in motion so that it can create connections and generate impact.
A project in development
International Biotech Academy is currently a project under development.
Building the model, relationships and future activities is an integral part of the pathway.
Technoscience will contribute to this process through its expertise in biotech, applied research and technology transfer, with the aim of fostering ever-stronger connections between scientific production, skills development and the innovation system.
