The “Electricity Transition and Logistics 4.0” project is a project of Research & Development created by companies in the TPL sector.
aimed at providing employees of companies in the TPL sector with the skills necessary to carry out the activities envisaged by the research.
Objectives of the Research & Development project.
The research addresses, with different approaches, the challenges that the electricity transition poses to companies in the TPL sector.
The research aims to encourage the transition from the internal combustion engine to the electric motor and to study the impact this will have on urban mobility and road safety.
In particular, the research will analyse how the work of drivers and maintenance staff changes and what specific risks are associated with these tasks. The objective is
The transition process will have a significant impact:
- On the replacement of vehicles from endothermic to electric;
- On the operational maintenance system of the vehicles;
- On the change in management logistics;
- It will expand the possibilities of offering new services;
- It will offer space for possible joint ventures with companies in the energy sector.

- Scenario analysis
On the future of local transport with the transition from the internal combustion engine to the electric motor and the impact this will have on urban mobility and road safety - Focus group
Aimed at identifying the main problems encountered by operators (drivers and maintenance workers) - Research tools
In this phase, the various research tools will be prepared and tested, both sociological (questionnaire, weekly diary) and technological (sensors useful for collecting a series of clinical information such as: heart rate, respiratory rate, etc.) which will then be used by drivers and maintenance workers through a specific app and which will be processed on the basis of an algorithm in order to observe and/or search for risks of pathologies linked to the transition. - Training
Through a widespread training activity aimed at all staff who actively participate in the research, the skills necessary to correctly use the sociological and technological tools created for the research will be transferred. The training will also have the task of promoting and accelerating the cultural change necessary to understand the new TPL paradigm. - Data collection
Through which the observations of drivers and maintenance workers are collected on the topics covered by the survey and information relating to driving styles in the operation of internal combustion engine vehicles and electric motor vehicles and their clinical reflection on the physiological parameters of the workers as well as on their level of stress. - Analysis phase consists of using information data
collected through questionnaires, daily diaries and sensors to intervene,
through the use of artificial intelligence tools, on scenarios
possible by adapting the company Know How and the related business processes
interested parties, also estimating the necessary changes to the information system
corporate. - Design phase of the electrical service
Which involves the use of artificial intelligence algorithms to facilitate:
